During 2021, a new experimental software was developed by the MIFT Department of the University of Messina as part of the information campaign of the “NonRaggir @ ME” Project to prevent and combat fraud. The software is applied to a smart band bracelet which, in case of perception of danger, allows the owner to send an alarm signal. The project is funded by the Ministry of the Interior, coordinated by the City of Messina in conjunction with the local Prefecture. The University of Messina participates in the innovative part of the project. The information campaign of the Project aims to provide the information necessary to improve the perception of citizens' cybersecurity; to prevent and combat scams; to promote listening and psychological support to the victims. A special added feature is the possibility to activate a psychological support service which can be contacted by calling a telephone number of the Operations Center of the Municipal Police.
