The University of Messina has organized several events by sharing its sports facilities with the local community. It has also turned its attention to the world of disability with the aim of achieving complete accessibility of sports facilities, promoting and ensuring the regular usability of services. It created the first baseball starter summer campus at the “Primo Nebiolo” stadium. Additionally, it developed and implemented all the activities included in the summer school aimed at children aged 3+ with transfer and support services for families.
Starting from the 2018/19 academic year, the University of Messina in collaboration with the CUS Unime has expanded its offer of activities, opening a new sector called "CUS UniMe - Special Needs". This sector includes sports activities aimed at the world of disability. It fosters inclusion with the aim of achieving complete accessibility to sports facilities, promoting and guaranteeing regular sports activities in the daily life of disabled persons. It also encourages the training of athletes who can compete in official contexts locally, nationally and internationally.

The first baseball starter summer campus was launched from 6 July to 1 August 2020. It is open to the entire local community of children between the ages of 3 and 17. Also another recreational activity carried out at the "Primo Nebiolo" baseball stadium is aimed at acquiring the basics of baseball and was drafted in compliance with the anti-COVID regulations issued by the Government.

Also for Summer 2020, Cus Unime offers its traditional summer sports activity dedicated to children. It is available to young people from 3 years of age on. The activities are carried out from Monday to Friday during the months of June and July. Minibus and canteen service is available for a small charge.
