The University of Messina has a long experience in conducting health awareness programs for the benefit of the community. Programs and projects are offered to the local community to improve and promote health. In 2021 the University of Messina promoted initiatives for patients and their families in the field of neuromuscular diseases, including scientific associations and research centers from the community. For example, a new vaccination hub with a capaciy of administering 500 vaccines per day was set up.  Another project was the creation of reception facilities for citizens and staff in collaboration with the Aosta Military Brigade.
